Singer Ed Sheeran was visibly moved during the filming for Comic Relief Appeal in Liberia. The "Shape of You" singer spent time with orphans living in slum areas and befriended a young boy by the name of JD whom he volunteered to pay to have housed along with his friends.

After the Comic Relief Appeal crew wrapped -up filming, Ed Sheeran is said to have seen JD being hit by an older man,  the Sun reported. It was then that the singer admitted to the TV crew that he could not leave until he knew the boy was being looked after. JD's father left when he was young and his mother died of the Ebola virus.

In a moving clip, Ed Sheeran is seen asking producers if it was possible for him to pay for accommodation for five of the children following the scuffle. In the video, the singer stresses that there are more ways than one to help children like JD and his friends. Most of the orphans according to the publication are children who have been left alone owing to a parent dying of Ebola or abandonment.

During the Comic Relief Live Show, Ed Sheeran told the host that he was getting ready to pack up with the crew for the day when the fight started. He said there was an older man and quite tall who picked up the boy whom he befriended and began smacking him

Ed Sheeran is filmed in the video as saying that he did not feel it was right to leave, the Daily Mail reported. He said he was so moved that he wished he could bundle the boys into a vehicle and house them at a hotel till more firm arrangements could be made.

During the filming of the Live show, Ed Sheeran told the host that he was asked not to discuss on video the issue of abuse, the Metro reported. He said most young boys are sexually abused by men and older boys in Liberia - a practice he said shocked him. He added that knowing what he did he could not leave JD and his friends alone to face the same fate.
