"Pokemon" anime is celebrating its 20th anniversary and its 20th movie is titled "Pokemon, I Choose You." The film was officially announced in December 2016, which will feature the Pallet Town that will showcase more on the first days of Ash Ketchum as a Pokemon trainer. The Pokemon Company released the film's new trailer last month featuring Ash and Pikachu, who don't appear to be getting along. The film takes fans back to the first episode of the anime, which was aired on April 1, 1997, in Japan.

"Pokemon, I Choose You" is the "Pokemon" anime's movie offering to commemorate its 20th anniversary. Apart from the film, its phenomenal game "Pokemon Go" also celebrates the anime's anniversary. MStarsNews reports that a Pikachu hat special edition has been Niantic's on-going event for the game including the Santa hat Pikachu as well as a Party hat Pikachu. Japan, of course, celebrates the anniversary by wearing the special edition hats.

Looking back at the first episode of the "Pokemon" anime titled "Pokemon, I Choose You," Comic Book believes that the episode did well with its attempts of making fans understand the core concepts of the anime. This was done in only 22 minutes long of the said episode. In the episode, Pikachu disobeyed most of the commands because he thinks that Ash is being a fool.

However, one major reason why fans admire Ash is because he is always doing is best to keep his Pokemon safe. Additionally, Pikachu also looks a little plump in the "Pokemon" anime's first episode "Pokemon, I Choose You" compared to his later appearances. It is because Pikachu has broader arms and shorter legs in the actual concept art. However, he now has longer legs and arms.

"Pokemon, I Choose You" movie is expected to hit theaters in Japan on July 15. Fans in the West may have to wait until there is an official announcement that they would be able to see the film on the big screen.
