'Yuri!!! On Ice' Season 2 Not Possible? Fans Still Hope to See the Anime Series Before the Year Ends

Mitsuro Kubo's "Yuri!!! On Ice" has been one of the most popular anime series in history with its unique storyline being praised the most. What makes the anime more interesting is that it has a different plot from the traditional anime series that usually delivers fighting storyline. When the movie version of the anime was announced, fans were concerned that season 2 of the anime series might not be released this year. However, recent reports claim that the second season might be out before the year ends.

Celebeat reports that since "Yuri!!! On Ice" season 1 debuted in October 2016, it is highly possible that season 2 will be released in October of this year as well. However, another report also suggests that it is still uncertain whether there will be another installment in the series. This is because the anime is not based on any story like from a manga or a novel.

"Yuri!!! On Ice" follows the story of the figure-skater Yuri Katsukiv. He strives to be a champion in figure-skating but has failed a few times. He decided to briefly stop from playing when he was defeated in the Grand Prix Finals and went to college just before he returned to his hometown.

"Yuri!!! On Ice" season 1 also featured the young figure-skater going back home and visited one of his old pals at an ice rink, where he played and copied the advanced skating techniques of the infamous Russian skater Victor Nikiforov. While playing, Yuri was secretly filmed and the video made its way to the internet that caught Victor's attention. He then travelled all the way to Kyushu and offered to train and coach Yuri in an attempt to develop his figure-skating skills.

Apparently, Yuri hopes to succeed in the Grand Prix series and fans are looking forward to see this in "Yuri!!! On Ice" season 2. That said, many fans are already thrilled with the thought of the young figure-skater going back to the arena competing to be the world's champion. Spoilers also suggest that Victor expresses his desire to go back to competition while he is training Yuri.
