Once She Confirms a Pregnancy, Kate Middleton Should Look to Hollywood Moms for Fashion Tips

Is she or isn't she? As rumors swirl about Kate Middleton's reported baby bump, fashion designers count down the minutes until they can send chic maternity clothes the princess's way.

There's no question that the princess will set a new standard for pregnancy fashion. But whose lead should she follow?

Reese Witherspoon

Keep it Classic - This beautiful mom of two wowed us when she hit the "Mud" premiere in Cannes wearing a sapphire-blue gown with a cutout back. The secret? The style was sexy without being overly revealing.

Create a New Focal Point - The black Monique Lhuillier cutout gown she chose for the White House Correspondents Dinner drew eyes to her sculpted shoulders - and away from her growing baby bump!

Don't Go Too Tight - The flouncy fuschia dress Witherspoon selected early on in her pregnancy lightly skimmed her belly without clinging to it.

Kate Hudson

Try a Strapless - Most pregnant women avoid strapless styles thinking the neckline will be too revealing. But when Hudson donned a gold strapless gown with crystal embroidery by Stella McCartney for the 2011 Met Gala, Goldie's daughter proved that a maternity strapless can look incredibly regal.

Choose Soft Hues - When Hudson hit the "Something Borrowed" premiere in LA wearing a pale-yellow, flowy gown, onlookers couldn't take their eyes off her. Fans loved how the shade of lemon looked ultra-feminine and maternal.

Have Some Fun - Some conservative moms were a little shocked when Hudson visited David Letterman in a skimpy sequin number. Of course, the princess could never be that risque. Yet Hudson showed that there's no reason to stop being playful just because you're expecting.

Jessica Alba

Flatter Your Skintone - If a woman looks like she's glowing, she'll feel better overall. Alba proved this when she showed up at the 2011 Met Gala wearing an icy-gold strapless by Ralph Lauren. The shimmery hue looked so gorgeous against her olive skin that people barely noticed her larger-than-life bump.

Brighten Up - A vibrant hue can also highlight a natural pregnancy glow. When Alba hit the BAFTA Awards in an electric-blue number by Atelier Versace she was beaming inside and out.

Don't Shy Away From Embellishment - During Alba's first pregnancy in 2008, the brunette bombshell stunned on the carpet in a burgundy Marchesa gown. The cherry on top? An exquisitely embellished bodice.
