Madison Little

Social media platforms have enabled people to rise above their situations and become something greater than themselves. TikToker Maddie Little had a childhood marked by trauma, but she has since become an influencer who uses her platform to encourage her followers to support one another and focus on their mental health.

Little's story begins in her childhood when, at age four, she tragically witnessed her mother being killed by her father right in front of her. It's an undeniably tragic story, but Little is very open about how this childhood trauma was a pivotal moment in her life, and how it was vital for her to embrace her feelings - rather than let herself be overwhelmed by them.

While Little is thankful that she had family to take care of her, and that she did not have to end up in the foster care system, her childhood was nonetheless challenging. She struggled to fit in with her family, who didn't understand the true weight of her trauma or how she was left to cope with her situation.

Changing the hurt that social media causes

As a child, Little used to hate public speaking. Like many of us, she suffered from stage fright, but the large platform she has amassed through TikTok has worked wonders to make her feel more comfortable sharing her story.

Little struggled in school, and despite her desire to become a psychiatrist to help others just as she was in her youth, she found that academia just wasn't for her. However, she also knew that didn't necessarily mean she couldn't still be a positive influence. Through TikTok, her own escape from the troubles she faced in the world, she has found a way to give back to - and inspire - others.

Social media platforms often garner poor reputations; much of the content posted or shared on them can be seen as hurtful. Trends that cause people to think poorly of themselves only cause further harm to mental health, but some influencers, including Little, are trying to reclaim social media as a force for good. By using their platforms to amplify positive messages, Little affirms that she and more people like her can make the world a better place, even if it's only a little bit at a time.

Creating a successful line of inspirational videos

On her TikTok and other social media profiles, Little posts what she calls "hey babe" videos, where she has a "conversation" with her followers. In these conversations, Little talks with viewers about their days and offers words of encouragement and advice. Thanks to her calm demeanor and profound insight, the thousands of people who regularly watch her videos find her to be a calming and inspiring presence.

Knowing the importance of mental health herself, Little emphasizes this in her videos. Sometimes, it's just important to hear a comforting voice telling you everything will be okay, and that is exactly what she offers in her videos. By being a source of positivity in a time when there is a lot of negativity in the world, Little has the chance to make a big difference. "You have power over your mind - not outside events," she explains. "Realize this, and you will find strength. Practice this, and you will find courage."

For Little, creating a community that supports one another is essential. The comments sections of her videos are alive with people not only coming there to support Little when she talks about the struggles that she is facing in her life, but each other when they open up about the problems that they need help with themselves.

Now, Little is starting to use her skills in giving advice and sharing wisdom to offer life coaching services. She started in 2021 by providing coaching to clients in Los Angeles, but has now taken her services fully online to make them more accessible to more people. By offering these services at an affordable price point, with several options depending on if you need assistance in your career, relationship, or life path in general, Little aims to be a helpful and reliable resource of positive change.

Little isn't your typical superficial TikTok influencer like the stereotype might lead some to think her to be. She cares deeply about the community of followers she has built through her platform, and hopes to be a genuine inspiration and influence for them in their journey of finding positive mental health. She sought on to become a source of brightness amidst the darkness we face in the world, and has accomplished just that.
