Father's Day was yesterday, and many celebrities took to their Twitter accounts to tweet well wishes towards their proud poppas. One tweet in particular stood out among the rest. Ronan Farrow, the 24-year-old son of actress Mia Farrow and director Woody Allen tweeted an unusual "Happy Father's Day" directed towards Allen.

"Happy Father's Day - or as they call it in my family, happy brother-in-law's day."

Ronan's tweet was listed as a "favorite" by over 780 followers, and was retweeted over 1600 times.

So why exactly is Ronan Farrow's tweet making headlines?

According to TMZ, Ronan has not spoken to father Woody Allen since 1992. Woody Allen and Mia Farrow began dating in 1980, and Farrow gave birth to Ronan in 1987.The reason for the fall out stems from his parent's nasty battle after news broke that Allen was dating Farrow's adopted daughter, Soon-Yi Previn.  Soon-Yi had been just 10-years-old when Allen first started dating her adopted mother. Allen married Soon Yi in 1997.

Last year the director told Reuters that he didn't understand why everyone made such a big deal about the situation in the tabloids.

"What was the scandal? I fell in love with this girl, married her. We have been married for almost 15 years now. There was no scandal, but people refer to it all the time as a scandal and I kind of like that in a way because when I go I would like to say I had one real juicy scandal in my life."

The Soon-Yi/Allen scandal resulted in a custody battle involving Farrow and Allen's three children, something that is obviously still fresh with Ronan.

To add to the hilarity of the Father's Day tweet, Mia retweeted her son's message with the additional word "BOOM" tagged to the end.

Woody Allen's latest film, "To Rome With Love," hits theaters on Wednesday.
