‘Vampire Diaries’ Season 4 Spoilers: Will Elena Complete Her Vampire Transition? And Who Will Help?

"The Vampire Diaries" returns to the CW on Oct. 11, and while a few weeks remain until the premiere, fans are dying for some answers. One key question that sprung from the season three finale is: Will Elena complete her transition to become a vampire?

As the center of the show, viewers know that Elena (Nina Dobrev) won't be going anywhere anytime soon. However, the question that remains is will Elena's friends find a cure for her transition (despite not finding one for the many others that have become vampires over the past few seasons), or will Elena embrace her new eternal life?

A new preview for season four shows Bonnie making the suggestion of sacrificing her own life to bring back her friend. "She's till in transition," Bonnie tells Jeremy. "Not fully dead, not fully alive."

Damon on the other hand is not in the mood to play games. "You feed or you die," he flat out tells Elena. Whether Elena likes it or not, it looks like Damon will get his way.

According to TVLine, during November sweeps Elena "is going to get a crash course in Vampirism 101," meaning that she will be following in the footsteps of Damon, and learning to feed on humans without killing them.

The terms "crash course" and "vampirism 101" stirs some previous "Vampire Diaries" spoilers about a new educational figure will be making his way to Mystic Falls.

TVGuide.com reported back in August that "The Borgias" star David Alpay will be tackling the role of Professor Shane, a teacher at the local college who also has ties to an important Mystic Falls family.

It was previously reported that Professor Shane, who has some knowledge of the occult, will be working closely with Bonnie, but where Bonnie is...Elena is.

Will season four of "The Vampire Diaries" find Professor Shane teaching Elena's "vampirism 101" course? Will the professor fill the shoes of recently deceased Alaric? Or will he only cause more drama for the supernatural Mystic Falls crew?

"The Vampire Diaries" returns for its fourth season on the CW on Thursday, Oct. 11.
