Avril Lavigne Reveals Half-Shaved Head At NYFW
Why is every Hollywood starlet cutting off their illustrious locks? Avril Lavigne is just the latest star to have gone shear happy. The 27-year-old designer revealed her half-shaved head on Monday during New York Fashion Week - which appeared dyed and festooned with metal studs - the girl definitely has a, err, unique sense of style.
"Tonight I got a little wild with my hair dye in my hotel room," Lavigne admitted to US Weekly. "I've always dyed my hair and had fun with pinks and greens, but this evening I was celebrating Fashion Week, here in New York, and the fact that I'm having a runway show, which is a major deal for me and means a lot."
"I just got dye happy and dyed my whole hair blond and then went crazy with these colors and studs," she added. "I actually had pink fingers, but I spent so long washing them."
About her upcoming wedding to Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger, the Canadian rocker revealed, "I've been thinking about it; I haven't come to a decision on themes yet, but I'm really excited to start planning and even more excited about the wedding dress," tacking on. "I have a lot of ideas and I'm trying to figure out which direction to go."
Lavigne hopes to rock a "bad ass!" wedding dress for her forthcoming wedding, preferably one she designs herself - it sure sounds like a far cry from the traditional Vera Wang gown she wore to marry ex-husband Deryck Whibley. Whatever gown she opts for, we're sure it's bound to be a one-of-a-kind creation. Whether that's a good thing, remains to be seen.
In a recent interview with Maxim magazine, the punk princess admits to being an old-fashioned gal. "I like a classy man, a gentleman who opens the door and gives flowers and always puts the lady first. I'm a little old-fashioned like that."
