‘Homeland’ Actress Claire Danes Says Motherhood Will Be ‘A Profound Change’

In an appearance on "Anderson Live" on Thursday, Emmy nominated actress Claire Danes revealed she's a little nervous about becoming a new mother. She's not sure what to expect, but whatever awaits her, she's sure it's going to be a "profound change."

"There's no way of anticipating what that's going to mean for [husband Hugh Dancy and me], but we are very excited," she told Anderson Cooper. "We are going to love this person, I know that."

However, the actress is not as inexperienced as she sounds. "My mom ran a toddler school in our loft; I grew up in the city," she explained. "So I grew up with 1-and 2-year-olds all throughout my childhood, and I know about early childhood development - that particular window I am pretty educated on."

Adding with a giggle,"anything before and after I might have some trouble."

Danes admits she has very little "patience" and therefore learned the sex of her little one early during her pregnancy -- but has opted to keep the news between herself and husband, Hugh Dancy.

"It's important to keep a little something to ourselves because we are so public," she explained.

Danes and Dancy live a charming life at their country estate in upstate New York, an ideal place for any child to grow up.

"I love all the fresh produce and the simple sort of lifestyle it affords," she says of the country. "It's kind of great because it's the best pressure valve. It's so nice to go to a place where I can be and look however I want with a cow as my witness."

The couple married in France, in 2009. Their "Evening" co-star Mamie Gummer, attended the romantic ceremony. "I was there when it was happening and it's something that I will never forget,"  she revealed. "I'm incredibly happy for them. They are perfect for each other."
