Last week Jon Bon Jovi's daughter, Stephanie Bongiovi, made headlines when she was arrested after allegedly overdosing on heroin. Now, her father and famous New Jersey rock is finally speaking out about the incident.

"This tragedy was something that I had to face, too, so we'll get through it," Jon Bon Jovi told Los Angeles' Fox 11. "And people's warm wishes for my family and I have been really reassuring. So, we're good."

According to the Huffington Post, Bongiovi had been found unresponsive in her Hamilton College dorm room. The 19-year-old student at the small upstate New York college had been with a fellow student, Ian Grant, when paramedics and police arrived.

Police reportedly found a "small quantity" of heroin, marijuana and drug paraphernalia in Bongiovi's room. TMZ reported that the rocker's daughter was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and criminally using paraphernalia..

"What I do for a living seems glitzy and glamorous, but if you don't take it too seriously it's a great way to make a living," continued Bon Jovi. And the life goes on. Things happen."

Charges against Stephanie Bongiovi have since been dropped.
