Sam Donaldson DUI: ABC Newsman Arrested In Delaware

By Staff Reporter | Dec 19, 2012 04:07 PM EST

It's "Newsmen Gone Wild" this holiday season as TMZ reported earlier today that veteran ABC newsman and political correspondent Sam Donaldson was arrested for DUI in Delaware earlier this month.

TMZ reported that 78-year-old Donaldson was stopped by authorities on the evening of December 1 after he had driven onto the shoulder of the road.

Given the gross disregard to staying in lane and the tell-tale alcohol odor, the police officer had Sam Donaldson perform a field sobriety test. Donaldson failed and was then arrested and taken to a nearby station where he was booked and released.

At 78-years-old, Donaldson should be advised to stop driving, let alone drive while intoxicated.

According to police records, Donaldson was cooperative during the incident. He is also released and pending an appearance in court.
