Robin Thicke will be performing at the Virgin Mobile FreeFest in September it was announced Monday.

Thicke has picked the free event as his only U.S. music festival this summer, as well as his only East Coast performance.

The Virgin Mobile FreeFest will be held Sept. 21 at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Md. A unique experience where indie rock, pop and EDM royalty music can be heard in one music event. The festival's main beneficiary has been youth homelessness.

On the main stage are: Vampire Weekend, the Avett Brothers, Pretty Lights, Robin Thicke, MGMT, Kaskade, City and Colour, Icona Pop, Chvrches, The Knocks, Black Joe Lewis, Sky Ferreira and Little Green Cars. In the dance forest, Madeon, Gareth Emery, Washed Out, Manufactured Superstars, Congorock, TJR and Ghost Beach will bang out the beats.

The announcement is on the heels of the chart topping success of his single, Blurred Lines. Even if the 36-year-old singer is considered past his prime by some, his song's provocative music video has more than 100 million views on YouTube. Blurred Lines has also bumped Daft Punk's almighty Get Lucky out of the No. 1 spot on most airplay charts.

"It's just one of those songs that loosens people up," said Pharrell Williams to LA Times, who produced and co-wrote "Blurred Lines." "With everybody so anxious about everything going on in the world, people need something to help them be happy again."
