Paula Deen has turned down an offer to appear on the new season of Dancing With the Stars, Us Weekly reported Wednesday.

"The dance floor is not the appropriate forum for her," a source said.

In 2010, Deen went on the record to pass on appearing on the dance competition. Deen told Extra she did not feel she was the ideal celebrity to partake in the extensive dances.

"I think they did ask me, and I said no," she said. "Fat girls don't look good sweating. I've got catfish arms. And I've got -- is that a muffin top right there?"

The embattled former Food Network star was rumored to be a favorite of the ABC show for their fall installment which begins in September. Deen became a lightning rod of controversy over the summer after allegations surfaced that she was a racist after a deposition leaked. tDeen revealed she had used the N-word.

At the time, Cheryl Burke floated the idea of Deen joining the ranks of their show. The dancer felt it would be a good opportunity for Deen to take her mind off her troubles. The 29-year-old made the comments to Entertainment Tonight Canada in July.

"I think you'd probably see a different side of her and I think she would be a great addition to the cast," Burke said.  "I think coming on something light and fun would be something good for her."
