Bruno Mars will perform at the Superbowl XLVIII halftime show in February 2014, Rolling Stone reported Sep. 7.

The Locked Out of Heaven singer will headline halftime show at New Jersey's MetLife Stadium on February 2, 2014. The NFL confirmed the rumors and speculations via Twitter. The organization also provided an accompanying poster of the singer to advertise the occasion.

In response, the 27-year-old Grammy singer shared his gratitude at being asked to perform at the event. He will follow in the likes of such superstars as last year’s entertainment, Beyoncé. Madonna, Michael Jackson and Prince have also taken to the stage during halftime. "It's just an honor," Mars said as the news was announced during Fox's live pregame show. "We just got off tour, so being able to come to New York City and announce this is incredible." Mars also took to Twitter to revel in the announcement.
