Joy Behar left The View on her own terms this past August. However, it was almost cut short seven years ago. She appeared on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno on Wednesday, Sept. 18 and revealed that she was almost fired by Barbara Walters, the series creator, Us Weekly reported.

Behar told Leno that Walters had been planning to announce that Rosie O'Donnell would he joining The View during the Primetime Emmys. However, it did not go according to plan when Behar accidentally slip this piece of information to Entertainment Tonight.

"You ever feel like you're going to have a heart attack?" she asked Leno recalling the phone call from Walters after the mistake she committed. According to Behar, her boss said, "Hello, Joy? It's Barbara. And I just want you to know I'm not renewing your contract."

She repeatedly apologized to Walters but Walters was not budging. "It was a big mistake! I'm not renewing your contract!" Behar said was Walters' reaction.

Of course, in the end, Walters did renew the contract of Behar. She even co-hosted for seven more years and she said that she found herself in a lot of awkward situations as well.

"I got in trouble a lot. I mean, people don't know how much trouble I got into," she quipped to Leno.
