Britney Spears to Lip Synch During Las Vegas Residency Shows?

Britney Spears will be lip synching during her Las Vegas residency, Page Six reported Monday.

Spears will be headlining Vegas for the next two years as part of her deal with Planet Hollywood. The Work Bitch singer will perform 50 shows a year and will reportedly be paid $30 million for Britney: Piece of me.  Spears promised an exciting show, but may not be able to deliver. Sources said that she would lip synch during her 90 minute performances.

"Britney does not sing. She is being paid a lot of money to lip-sync," the source said. "Her fans are none the wiser, but it is disingenuous of her to take their cash and not deliver a proper performance."

The insider added that fans should not expect a live experience. Spears has reportedly not sung live for many years. In 2009, Australian fans walked out of her concert because she did not perform live.

"She hasn't sung live for a couple of years," says our source. "If the crowd thinks they are being cheated then there is likely to be an uproar, but then again look at the success of Cirque du Soleil's Michael Jackson shows. The performers in that production don't sing live, and it has been a runaway success."
