Jason Wahler opened up about his suicidal tendency in a Huffington Post entry which was posted on Thursday, Oct. 17, Us Weekly reported.

In the past years in the spotlight, the Hills alum star had many drinking-related arrests and even spent time behind bars. In the blog entry titled "A Complete 180," he talked about his struggles with alcohol and even revealed that he once tried to commit suicide.

"I was so uncomfortable in my own skin that I contemplated suicide a number of times, and even attempted it once," the 26-year-old wrote. "I took 10 times more antabuse (a popular drug that helps alcoholics abstain from drinking) than I was supposed to in an effort to take my own life, but was saved after being rushed to the hospital and receiving treatment for my overdose. That was about four years ago, and I have now been sober for three."

He credited his turnaround to a popular addiction specialist, Dr. Drew. "It wasn't until my introduction to Dr. Drew on Celebrity Rehab that I really decided to put my game face on and do whatever it took to get sober, including letting go of my past demons," he recalled.

He also talked about his wife now, Ashley Slack, the piece was written before they were about to get married.

"I have found my soul mate in my fiancée, Ashley Slack, who will be my wife in just a matter of days," stated Wahler. "I will be officially off the market and could not be happier about it!"

"Ashley has supported me in my sobriety and has played a pivotal role in shaping who I am today," he said. "Our wedding will be yet another accomplishment and proud moment in my life - a life that has been turned around through hard work, dedication, and the love of an amazing woman who I look forward to sharing the rest of my sober and successful life with.'

Wahler and Slack were married on Oct. 13.
