TLC's Chilli: Usher Was My First 'Real Love', He Never Cheated on Me

TLC's Chilli has opened up about her romance with Usher and has claimed he was her first real love, Us Weekly reported Monday.

Chilli, whose real name is Rozonda Thomas, is one of the members of the iconic girl group TLC.  She has been on the promotional trail for the VH1  biopic, Crazy, Sexy Cool: The TLC Story. During her time in the group, she dated the R&B superstar Usher. They dated for two years and many believed she was the muse for Usher's 2004 Confessions album.

"We were together when he recorded that album," Thomas clarified in an exclusive interview with Us Weekly. "All of those songs on Confessions, that was about Jermaine Dupri's situation. Usher was just singing it. But people kind of bought into it, it was just the timing of our breakup when the album came out."

Thomas said that it is wrong for anyone to assume the best selling album as being about her. She insisted it was a wrong assumption and that their relationship was a genuine one.

"And Usher and I weren't oil and water. We broke up because I guess it was that time or whatever," she added wistfully: "he was that real love for me."

She added that she would always love him.

"But I'll always love him, forever, because he was my first adult love, a real love," she said. "But we're cool, we're really cool. There's no hard feelings, nothing like that. It's all good."
