Kim Kardahsian has opened up about her battle to lose weight after her pregnancy in this week's issue of PEOPLE.

The 33-year-old reality TV star gave birth to her daughter, North West, in June. During the pregnancy, her famous curves came under scrutiny as she gained weight. She was routinely mocked online for gaining pounds and selections of wardrobes.

"Pregnancy for me was a lot tougher than people saw on my show or from magazines," Kardashian said in the exclusive interview. "So to get back to feeling like myself just makes me feel good again."

Kardashian said she coped with the backlash she received by tuning out the media. However, she did offer a reflection on how the negative attention focused on her body made her feel. She admitted that pregnancy was not what she had envisioned it to be.

"I always envisioned that I would have this easy time just being pregnant, only my belly would get big," she told viewers on her E! reality show Keeping Up With the Kardashians in an Oct. 13 episode. "And it has just been so not that way for me. But sometimes, you just have to take life for what it is and enjoy the ride."
