The Little Couple star Jennifer Arnold has announced that she was recently diagnosed with a rare cancer and has been having chemotherapy.

"I have recently been diagnosed with a rare type of cancer and am currently undergoing treatment, including surgery and chemotherapy," Jen said in a statement to PEOPLE magazine.

"I am very fortunate as the prognosis is good. While there is never a good time to get news like this, getting it just as we are building our new family is tough in many ways," Jen said."But being surrounded by the love of my husband and our two beautiful children is actually in many ways giving me the strength to fight it even stronger."

Dr. Jennifer Arnold is married to Bill Klein. The two are parents to son Will and daughter Zoey. They are the stars of the reality show Little Couple. TLC has released a statement stating their support for Arnold.

"TLC has chronicled Bill and Jen's lives since 2009 and at their request, we will be following them through this challenge," a TLC spokesperson tells PEOPLE. "Jen is a doctor and teacher and she saw this as an opportunity to educate and possibly help, through sharing her story."

Klein said a similar statement to PEOPLE earlier this year, saying, "We allowed our lives to be filmed because we wanted people to understand more about our condition and others who are like us."

A lot of fans wanted to say their well-wishes for the family. Most of them took to Twitter and tweeted their message with the hashtag "#GetWellJen."

Arnold also took to Twitter to share her optimism saying, "It's out there! But I am in the process of beating this!"

She also tweeted a thank you message to all her fans, "Thank you to all for your well wishes and support! #GetWellJen."
