George Zimmerman Domestic Violence Charges Dropped

The domestic violence charges against George Zimmerman have been dropped, TMZ reported Wednesday.

Samantha Schiebe, Zimmerman's girlfriend, changed her account of an incident which occurred between her and Zimmerman in November. She faulted the police for intimidating her. In a court filing on Monday, she denied that he ever used a gun to threaten her.

"When I was being questioned by police I felt very intimidated," she wrote. "I believe that the police misinterpreted me and that I may have misspoken about certain facts in my statement to police."

Schiebe would like to reunite with Zimmerman. However, there is currently a restraining order barring him from having any contact with her. It stems from their encounter in which Zimmerman was arrested by Seminole County Sheriff officials on Nov. 19 following an argument which allegedly turned violent. At one point, Zimmerman was believed to have pointed a shotgun in her face as he physically forced her out of the house they were sharing in Florida. The 30-year-old was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (domestic violence), battery (domestic violence) and criminal mischief.

In July, Zimmerman was acquitted in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin. He was also involved in a domestic dispute with his wife, Shellie, in September.
