Roy Garber Dead: Shipping Wars Star Was 49

Roy Garber died on Friday, January 17, after suffering from a heart attack, his girlfriend told TMZ. The Shipping Wars star was rushed to a Texas hospital on Friday night but passed away shortly after he arrived at the hospital.

Garber, who was 49 years old, suffered from heart conditions for a long time now, sources close to the reality star told TMZ. He leaves behind his longtime girlfriend and his 18-year-old son Travis, who he raised by himself.

"We are deeply saddened by the loss of a member of the A&E family," A&E said in a statement. "Our thoughts are with Roy's loved ones during this difficult time. He will be missed."

In his A&E bio, he was a described as a "serious jack-of-all-trades and a major know-it-all. From TIG welding to catching alligators, he seems to have experience with everything and hasn't found a load or situation he couldn't tackle (and isn't afraid to tell you so)."

The star completed five seasons of Shipping Wars. The final episodes of the fifth season aired on January 14.
