More and more celebrities are sharing their wisdom with regard to leading a healthy lifestyle. Cameron Diaz shares some of her thoughts and experiences in her new book, The Body Book: The Law of Hunger, the Science of Strength, and Other Ways to Love Your Amazing Body. The Charlie's Angels actress said that she wrote the book because she wants to help women to have the best body that they can have. The book was published on December 2013 just in time for Christmas.

In an interview with Self magazine, she shared how she had come to lead a healthy lifestyle. The actress has a very petite body type and was once a smoker.

"I fell into fitness by accident," said the actress. "But it's become something I depend on physically and emotionally. I feel so much more empowered now."

She also shared her workout regimen: "At the gym, I'll do intervals on the treadmill for 5 minutes, jamming out for 30 seconds at 10 or 12 mph, then resting for 15 seconds. Then I do lunges with rows, squats, and pushing and pulling cables."

She also revealed that she does it first thing in the morning since her gym opens at 5:30 a.m. When asked what she does if she doesn't feel like exercising, "Some days I don't. Some days I stay in bed because sleep is more important to me at that moment. And some days I go to the gym for literally 10 minutes.

"It's not about having a ripped stomach. It's about taking care of myself," she emphasized.

Here are some of the helpful tips in the book:

  • Eat breakfast
  • Drink lots of water. Check the color of your pee to make sure that you're hydrated
  • You can exercise in many ways wherever you are and whatever you're doing
  • Create a 15-minute playlist and dance
  • Break bad habits slowly but surely
