A Mean Girls reunion is coming soon nearly 10 years after the original film's release.

TMZ reported that Tina Fey had been leading the charge for a reunion to honor the film's 10-year anniversary.

The source says the reunion "it's been in the works for weeks," according to a report on March 7.

TMZ's report followed an appearance of Lindsay Lohan on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon on Thursday Mar. 6, where she revealed details about the projec in an interview,

"When I was backstage I saw Tina [Fey] and she mentioned maybe doing some kind of reunion," Lohan told Fallon. "She said she was talking to Lorne [Michaels] about it, so she's talking to the big boss."

In the last month, Fey has reportedly wrangled several of the film's stars, including Amy Poehler (Regina's mom), Jonathan Bennett (Aaron Samuels), Rajiv Surendra (Kevin Gnapoor), and Daniel Franzese (Damian), in hopes at getting them to sign on for the new film. That leaves Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfried and Lacey Chabert unspoken for.

Adding to the hype, Lohan reportedly reunited with Surendra and Franzese in New York City last month. Lohan shared a group photo on Instagram with the caption, "@whatsupdanny #RajivSurendra #youcantsitwithus #soquiche #klangkarussell #KevinG,"

As for where the reunion will take place, In Touch Weekly suspects that the gang will come together for some sort of comedy sketch for a live show or awards show, possibly the upcoming MTV Movie Awards which are set to air on MTV on April 13.
