Kate Hudson and Matt Bellamy are working on their relationship.

After hitting a rough patch, the actress and her Muse front man beau have opted to seek "intense therapy" in hopes of getting their relationship back on track.

"They've been going to couples counseling to try to make it work," a source told Life & Style of the couple on March 21. "They've been fighting for almost a year."

Hudson and Bellamy first began dating in spring 2010. One year later, the couple were engaged and preparing for the birth of their first child, son Bingham Hawn Bellamy, who arrived in July 2011.

Earlier this year, reports began to surface that the pair were on the rocks after Hudson was spotted without her 9-carat engagement ring at a handful of events, including the Bulgari Decades of Glamour event at LA’s Soho House on Feb. 25 and the Vanity Fair Oscar party.

According to the source, the distance between Hudson, who lives in the States, and Bellamy, who resides in London, is their main issue.

"She can't handle how much he travels and is away from the family," the insider says. "They love each other but know they've grown apart."

Last year, Hudson admitted that she and Bellamy hadn't began planning their wedding because of their hectic schedules.

"I look forward to it," Hudson told Extra in Apr. 2013. "We'll both figure it out. We've been both very busy, but it will happen."
