Teresa Giudice Accused Of Trying To Hide Earnings
Teresa Giudice may be trying to hide cash from the government.
After pleading guilty to four charges of fraud in March 2014, Giudice attended an event, during which she restricted autographs to those paying in cash, and now, the prosecution on her case is concerned that she may be hiding earnings.
“The judge and the prosecutor are aware that Teresa could still be trying to hide money,” a source close to the case revealed to Radar Online on April 8. “That isn’t going to go over well at her sentencing, for her.”
On March 19, Giudice made an appearance at The Porsche Spring Soiree in Garfield, N.J. and in a video captured by Radar, was seen charging "cash only" with no receipts for her cook book and autograph.
“Teresa was advertised as the the celebrity guest and that she would be signing copies of her latest book. But nowhere was it advertised that she would be charging guests $25 to sign and take a photo with her,” one guest told Radar. “When you walked up to her, the woman next to her was quick to advise that it was $25 and ‘cash only.’ Cash only? Who takes cash only? Even Teresa was telling guests it was ‘cash only, no receipts’ and she had bags of cash beside her where her colleague was collecting the money.”
Giudice and her husband, Joe Giudice, plead guilty to several counts of fraud including bankruptcy fraud, conspiracy to commit mail fraud and wire fraud, and failing to pay taxes, during a March 4, 2014 court date. When they return to court in July, they face serious repercussions.
Giudice, who is a mother of four, is facing up to 27 months in prison and her husband Joe could be jailed for up to 46 months -- and a possible deportation (he isn't a US citizen) once his sentencing is complete. In addition, Giudice has agreed to pay $200,000 to the government.
The Giudices are due back in court on July 8.
