Tori Spelling Wedding Anniversary: Dean McDermott Showers Wife With Gifts, Takes Her Out To Dinner

Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott celebrated their wedding anniversary earlier this week.

As their marital troubles played out on True Tori, Spelling and her husband enjoyed a meal together at sushi eatery Katsu-Ya in Encino, Calif., where they reportedly looked "sad" and "down."

"They did not look happy at all," an eyewitness told Us Weekly of the dinner date. "They were quiet. There weren't any smiles at all. It was sad to see them so down."

Since news of McDermott's affair with 28-year-old Emily Goodhand broke, the pair have been laying low, appearing in public only occasionally and refraining from making any red carpet appearances together. However, despite pulling back when it comes to their public sightings, the pair chose to sign on to a new series, True Tori, which documents the struggles they have been dealing with behind closed doors.

Before their dinner, McDermott was spotted shopping in Los Angeles at Victoria's Secret and Tiffany & Co., as well as the Sherman Oaks Galleria, where he met up with his teenage son Jack, from his previous marriage to Mary Jo Eustace.

At dinner, Spelling and McDermott were dressed casually, with Spelling in baggy pants and an oversized sweater, and McDermott in a dark blue t-shirt and jeans -- the same outfit he had been wearing earlier in the day, minus the flip-flops. Another thing worth mentioning about their recent outing was that they were both wearing their wedding rings.

According to a second report by PEOPLE Magazine, McDermott had a special gift for Spelling, which he presented to her during their night out -- a vintage ring with multi-colored stones from Neil Lane.

"Dean wanted to keep tradition and celebrate their anniversary and ‘love story' with a very special, beautiful ring set in gold - and this one is really cool with lots of color," Lane told PEOPLE of the unique piece of jewelry. "He loved the multi-color and he wanted gems. It's very stylish and different. He wanted to get a really special jewel, something meaningful -he wanted to show up for Tori with a beautiful ring."

True Tori airs every Tuesday at 10 p.m. on Lifetime.
