Thandie Newton reportedly gave birth to her third son at home.

In an interview with the TODAY Show on Thurs., May 22, Newton opened up about the birth of son Booker Jombe, revealing her baby entered the world "on the bathroom floor."

“I’d never been in hospital as a child or as an adult really, and I just associated hospital with being ill,” Newton explained to the hosts of her decision, via PEOPLE Magazine. “And I felt beautiful and healthy and wonderful when I was pregnant, and being at home was the place I felt most relaxed and comfortable.”

After marrying English writer, director, and producer, Ol Parker, in 1998, Newton welcomed her first child, daughter Ripley, born in 2000. Four years later, she and Parker welcomed their second child, Nico, also a daughter. On March 3, 2014, Newton and Parker's third child arrived and was given the name, Booker Jombe Parker.

Since her first pregnancy, Newton has chosen to deliver her children via midwife at her and her husband's home.

“There was a time when everyone had their babies at home. It wasn’t such a big deal,” she said. “It’s more about as a woman what do you feel most comfortable doing, and you make the choice, and I chose to be at home.”

After becoming pregnant with baby no. 3 in fall 2013, Newton wondered if she would be able to continue working on the police drama, Rogue. In the end, Newton chose to honor her committment to the series and next week, the show's second season will premiere.
