Farrah Abraham may have starred in a sex tape, but according to her, she's no porn star.

While in New York City earlier this week, the former Teen Mom star took part in a new interview, where she spoke of her new novel, Celebrity Sex Tape, and revealed her feelings on being labeled a porn star.

“I stay true to myself. I really enjoy at this time of my life writing about sex," Abraham told FOX411 of her upcoming book on May 29. "I think it’s because I’m 22, and kind of single. What better to express yourself in a positive way than writing?”

In spring 2013, just months after wrapping the fourth and final season of Teen Mom, Abraham released her first sex tape with Vivid Entertainment. However, Abraham has been hesitant to take on the porn star title, explaining that while she may have been the star of a celebrity sex tape, she simply does not live the porn star lifestyle.

In her interview with FOX411, Abraham revealed that she had friends in the adult entertainment industry who have dedicated their lives to porn and have no other income. Comparing herself to those friends, Abraham claimed that all she did was make a sex tape, and said she lives a "very different life than what adult entertainers live.”

Although Abraham doesn't want to be called "porn star," there is one title she doesn't mind -- "sex symbol."

“I think I’m ok with being a sex symbol," Abraham admitted. "I think moving on in my future and in my career that is something that I am proud of at the same time I’m using it as a positive rather than a negative, which is hard to deal with at times.”
