Tracy Morgan is showing signs of improvement following a six car collision in New Jersey.

Over the weekend, Morgan was involved in a massive crash on the way home from his stand-up show in Delaware, and although he has a ways to go before he is 100 percent, his rep has confirmed that he is headed in the right direction.

"While Tracy remains in critical, but stable, condition, he continues to show signs of improvement," Morgan's rep said in a statement to PEOPLE Magazine. "His medical team remains optimistic that his recovery is progressing."

Morgan was left in critical condition early Saturday morning after a Walmart truck ran into the back of his limo bus, killing one man, comedian James McNair, and leaving three others hospitalized.

On Sunday, Morgan underwent leg surgery and has been in the intensive care unit ever since. Throughout his stay at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, N.J., Morgan's fiance, Megan Wollover, has been by his side.

"Megan remains by his side and is relaying the countless good wishes and prayers that his family, friends and fans have been sending their way," the rep continued. "In addition, Jeff's wife asked us to pass along that Jeff has also shown much improvement over the past few days. She is very thankful for the love and support she and their family continue to receive."

On Wednesday, Kevin Roper, the driver of the Walmart truck, appeared in court where he plead not guilty to charges of vehicular homicide and assault by auto. If convicted, Roper faces 15 years behind bars.
