Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott are heading in the right direction following a highly publicized cheating scandal late last year.

On Wednesday, Spelling appeared on Good Morning America, where she responded to questions regarding her ongoing marriage troubles to Dean McDermott and her decision to feature them on a Lifetime reality series.

“Things are getting better,” Spelling said of her marriage, via Us Weekly. “Life is always a work in progress and our relationship is one as well, but we’re moving in the right direction.”

In Dec. 2013, Spelling and McDermott's marriage troubles were plastered all over the internet after a woman named Emily Goodhand came forward, claiming to have had a sexual relationship with McDermott during his time in Canada. A short time after the story was published, McDermott entered rehab for "health and personal issues."

Weeks after McDermott checked himself into rehab, Spelling inked a deal with the Lifetime network to feature their struggles in a new reality show. The series was titled, True Tori, and lasted for ten episodes.

After the series was announced, Spelling received a ton of backlash in regard to exposing such intimate issues on television, and many considered the reality show to be fake. Even McDermott's son, Jack, publicly stated that the show was all lies.

"Reality’ show my a**!” the 15-year-old wrote on his Twitter account. “It’s all set up plz don’t buy into it. My father is not what the show makes him to be, he is a good man.”

Following the allegations, Spelling denied reports of the series being staged and on this morning's episode of GMA, she revealed she did the show because it "was my personal journey."
