Lisa Vanderpump On 'RHOBH' Season Five: Reality Star Explains Return

Lisa Vanderpump recently explained why she returned to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills after a dramatic season four.

Following last season, Vanderpump expressed her discouragement over the events of the year and hinting that she may not return to the show for season five, but now, months later, she's signed on and ready to make her Bravo return.

"I was under contract at Bravo, and for the most part I’d had a good experience," Vanderpump said during an interview with Hallmark Channel's Home And Family, via an Aug. 6 report by AllAboutTRH. "I’d done something like 140 episodes. So for the most part, it’s been incredible — it really has."

For the first few years of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Vanderpump was a fan favorite, and paid accordingly, but by season four, the tables had turned. Instead of being a friend to most, Vanderpump was an enemy to nearly all of her co-stars after her longtime friend, Kyle Richards, along with her co-star Brandi Glanville, made claims that Vanderpump had been manipulating the cast into doing certain things.

One particular scene included Glanville making allegations that Vanderpump encouraged her to bring a tabloid, which discussed Richards' husband's reported cheating, to a cast trip to Palm Springs, Calif.

Despite the season four issues, Vanderpump is ready to come back to the show and spread the word on what inspires her.

"It’s given me such an opportunity to talk about the things I’m passionate about… You know, because I’m a huge supporter of the LGBT community, children with alopecia, Keep the Memory Alive, all those things, so that’s been really, really helpful, and I’ve had a lot of fun doing it," she added. "I really have. But last season it was hard."
