Teresa Giudice Sentencing: 'RHONJ' Star "Confident" She Won't Receive Jail Time

Teresa Giudice doesn't think she has anything to worry about when it comes to her upcoming fraud sentencing.

In less than a month, the Real Housewives of New Jersey star and her husband, Joe Giudice, will receive their sentencing after pleading guilty to a number of fraud charges. However, Teresa, for one, doesn't believe there's a chance she will receive jail time for the crimes she's committed.

“Teresa has been telling friends she doesn’t think there is any way the judge will send her to prison because she is a mother of four girls,” an insider told Radar Online on Aug. 26. “Teresa is planning on saying she just went along with whatever her husband Joe gave her to sign, and never paid attention to the details.”

In March 2014, months after their indictment on charges of fraud, Teresa and Joe entered a guilty plea. In the months that followed, each party has been preparing their cases (with separate lawyers) in hopes at evading jail time.

“Lawyers for the couple will ask for leniency and probation for both, with no jail time,” the source explained. “Teresa is very positive that the United States Justice Department won’t recommend that she go to jail either. She is very eager to review what prosecutors are asking for. Of course, the judge will have the final say.”

Last week, Radar Online reported Giudice had requested Bravo refrain from filming their upcoming sentencing. Unfortunately, the network had other plans and will reportedly use the footage for the Real Housewives of New Jersey season six reunion show.

The Giudices will appear in court on Sept. 23. Joe is facing up to 47 months in prison, while Teresa is facing 44 months behind bars.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey airs on Sunday nights at 8 p.m. on Bravo.
