Kendall Jenner Ditches Famous Last Name: Model Wants To Be Known As "Kendall"

Kendal Jenner is dropping the "Jenner" from her name.

After expressing her frustration with her ties to reality TV and the infamous Kardashian/Jenner clan, Kendall Jenner has officially ditched her last name and will now be known simply as "Kendall."

"Like old school models Iman or Twiggy, Kendall Jenner is just Kendall now," Racked announced on Aug. 27. "Her agency, The Society Management, has dubbed her thusly on their site."

On The Society Management's page, Kendall is surrounded by models, including Adriana Lima, Liu Wen and Lindsey Wixon, all of whom have kept a hold on their last names. They, however, didn't have famous families to distance themselves from.

Although Kendall has gotten a lot of recognition because of her role on Keeping Up With The Kardashians, as well as her connection to her famous sisters and brothers, she claimed during a recent interview that the show has done more damage than good when it comes to her modeling career.

“People think that this [success] just came to me. But it didn’t. What I have has almost worked against me,” Kendall told LOVE Magazine, via PEOPLE, last month. “I had to work even harder to get where I wanted because people didn’t take me seriously as a model … I went on castings and some people weren’t feeling me because of my name."

In the magazine, Kendall said it was "great" when people didn’t recognize her during castings. "I was like, ‘Thank you. Please don’t recognize me,'” she recalled.
