On Oct. 1, a report hit the web, claiming the single mother was heading back to the Bravo reality series after a three-year hiatus. According to a source, producers want Frankel back on the show to help its dwindling ratings.

"Bringing her back is a last ditch effort," an insider revealed to Us Weekly.

Frankel left the series after the show's third season. During The Real Housewives of New York City season three, Frankel had a falling out with her former friend, Jill Zarin, and told press she saw no reason to return. Instead, she and husband Jason Hoppy went on to star in their own series, Bethenny Getting Married, which was later renamed Bethenny Ever After.

Zarin is also in talks for a season seven return.

"[Zarin] might come back to rehash their issues," a second insider told Us Weekly. "But so far it's just talk."

On Wednesday, while promoting her new children's book, Cookie Meets Peanut, Frankel addressed the report.

"I haven't signed anything," Frankel told PEOPLE MagazineStill, Frankel didn't say a return to The Real Housewives of New York City was off the table. "We're talking about a couple of different things and deciding together what we're going to do."

Frankel also spoke about her possible return to The Real Housewives of New York City during a taping of Access Hollywood Live last week.
