Tom Schwartz 'Vanderpump Rules:' Star Discusses Relationship, Season Three And More [VIDEO]

By Lindsay Cronin l.cronin@celebeat.com | Oct 28, 2014 02:19 PM EDT

Tom Schwartz recently spoke to Celebeat, revealing what fans can expect from Vanderpump Rules season three.

Ahead of Monday's big premiere, we caught up with Schwartz via email and discussed everything from SUR to his girlfriend Katie Maloney to the return of Stassi Schroeder.

Check out the exclusive interview below:

How does it feel to be in your third season of reality TV?

Have you ever bought at box of Frosted Mini Wheats and when you open the box, all the cereal has three times the normal amount of frosting? Sort of like that. I never would believe you if five years ago you told me I'd be on a reality TV show in its third season. I think that I've stopped judging reality television and have come to embrace it.

Are you at all surprised by the success of Vanderpump Rules?

At first, I was incredulous, but I was glib. It shocked our group of friends, but other times felt it was inevitable. There's a lot of history and chemistry within our dynamic gang and it translates well on television. Surprised? Initially, yes. Grateful? Definitely. I think in regards to this specific genre, it's easily one of the best shows.

Now that you are an official cast member, can we assume you are working at SUR?

I do still bartend sometimes and my campaign to work for Lisa continues. Maybe it's not so much I want to bartend for her, but I really respect Ken and Lisa's work ethic and entrepreneurship. I hope some of that rubs off on me.

What will fans see from you this season that they didn't last season?

My first full frontal scene! Just kidding. However, I do bare something I haven't before: my heart. That sounds kind of sappy, but I was as open and candid as is possible for me. I had to come to terms with some hard truths and was a bit of a mess honestly. In previous seasons, I was more of a neutral or tentative third party, but this season I'm knee-deep in the thick of it. It's scary in the trenches!

How are things with Katie? Is a televised proposal coming soon (no pressure)?

We are solid, but the pressure is mounting! That being said, I am well versed in the art of non-committal procrastination. She's wearing me down though. J

Where do you see yourself and Katie in five years?

On "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew." KIDDING! I can picture us happily married and pursuing new endeavors we never had before imagined. Not quite ready for kids now, but in five years, I'd say there is a very good chance of some mini Schwartz-Maloneys running around.

How are things going with the guys? Are tensions still high between Jax and Tom?

After this season, it's safe to say we've all gotten "Jax-ed" in one way or another. But the guys all remain friends and Tom and Jax are reconciling their differences. Tom, Jax and I are getting our old dynamic back to where it used to be: wolfpack-esque.

How did you cope with Jax and Tom being at odds with one another after last season's turn of events?

It was truly awkward at times. All my empathy was with Tom, but I still valued my friendship with Jax. It was a delicate balancing act. Only time will fully restore that friendship.

Are you excited to have Stassi back in L.A.?

Meh. She's cool, I suppose!

What should fans look forward to seeing on season three?

Cheating, lying, loving, crying, laughing, drinking, thinking, delving, striving, learning and linking. Okay, that was a bit corny, but you can expect to see life! Raw and passionate. Hopefully more of our idiosyncrasies and shenanigans as well. Highs and lows. I'm recycling my tag line from season two: heads will roll, boobs will show and tears will flow.

Don't miss Tom Schwarz and the rest of the Vanderpump Rules cast in season three, premiering on Monday, Nov. 3 at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
