Two months after Joan Rivers' tragic passing, her fellow comedian and longtime friend was given the chance to replace her on E!'s fashion series.

"They did offer it to me," Griffin told Access Hollywood, via a Nov. 4 report by Us Weekly, of Rivers' former gig. However, Griffin hasn't yet signed on -- and doesn't know if she will. "I don't know if the situation is correct at this time for me, or right for me at this time," she admitted.

Kathy Griffin, NeNe Leakes And Tyra Banks Are In The Running For Joan Rivers' Spot On 'Fashion Police'

After Rivers' death in September, there were several rumors regarding the future of Fashion Police. While many thought the show should end, and that no one could fill her shoes, Melissa Rivers eventually gave E! her blessing to continue with the series.

In October, Griffin spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about the possibility of continuing Rivers' legacy on Fashion Police.

"I want to do a great job if I do it, obviously,” she said. “I can tell you that I hope they continue the tradition of my good friend and have someone lead the show with a fearless brand of comedy.”

When the series returns to E! in January, just in time for the Golden Globe Award, returning hosts Giuliana Rancic, Kelly Osbourne and George Kotsiopoulos will be seen. Other celebrities reportedly in talks to fill Rivers' shoes include model and host Tyra Banks and reality star NeNe Leakes.
