Spoiler alert: close this page right now if you have not watched Coda, The Walking Dead midseason finale!

The fans have until February to cope as the fifth season of The Walking Dead went on a break with the death of Beth Greene, one of the major characters in the series.

Actress Emily Kinney, who plays Beth, ended her three-year stint with a bang.

She now has more time to focus on her music career; her next single Rockstar will be released on Dec. 9 and a new album is in the pipeline for next year.

Beth was shot in the head in a heart-stopping hospital scene by Officer Dawn Lerner (Christine Woods) just as was supposed to be reunited with Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and other friends.

According to Kinney, she found out of this development the day the script came out, which left her with just a little time to emotionally prepare for the scenes.

The actress initially felt sad, as she had no idea that her character was going to die. According to her, the role was a big part of her life for the last three years and the change was something she had to deal with.

The scene was rehearsed a couple of times as it had to be flawlessly executed as it involved a lot of coordination.

The Walking Dead cast members such as Steven Yeun, Norman Reedus, and Lauren Cohan reached out to Kinney after the scene was shot.

The Walking Dead cast sent her off with a campout, complete with a bonfire for a festive touch. The moment was truly unforgettable for the actress as she now moves on to the next chapter of her career.
