The dashing Brit actor, Benedict Cumberbatch, had been announced by Marvel to play Doctor Strange in the film adaptation of the comic book sorcerer supreme.

Marvel Studios had confirmed the announcement last Thursday, Dec. 4. Producer Kevin Feige mentioned, "Stephen Strange's story requires an actor capable of great depth and sincerity. In 2016, Benedict will show audiences what makes Doctor Strange such a unique and compelling character," according to US weekly.

The film will be helmed by Scott Derrickson and will be written by Jon Spaiths. It follows the story of Doctor Stephen Strange after a terrible car accident and how he became Earth's ultimate Sorcerer Supreme. Doctor Strange release date is set on November 4, 2016.

Well, that seems not enough as the 38-year-old actor has a full calendar year of activities. He recently promoted The Imitation Game, playing as the mathematician gay genius, Alan Turing. Turing and some fellow mathematicians encrypted the German enigma machine that saved millions of lives during World War II. He was considered as the founding father of modern day computers, but was later on tried in court because he was homosexual, which was banned in Britain during those days. In the end, Turing took his life by eating an apple with cyanide.

Cumberbatch, on his part, is getting a lot of buzz that he might nab the Academy Awards for Best Actor next year. He recently won the Hollywood Film Awards for Best Actor which is sometimes the basis for winning the Oscars.

And oh yeah, he voiced Classified in the now showing Penguins of Madagascar too!

By early next year, the Sherlock star will start shooting scenes for a Christmas Sherlock special that will be aired December 2015 via BBC.

And the good thing is (well bad thing for those loyal Cumberbitches), the Parade Ends actor recently got engaged to Theater director Sophie Hunter last November.
