Beyonce, Ed Sheeran, Pharrell Williams and Iggy Azalea among the first nominees for the Grammys

There is no doubt that biggest and hottest music awards show is coming up fast and there's a lot to be said as the Grammy's recently released the list of its nominees. Among the first in its list are Beyonce, Ed Sheeran, Pharrell Williams, Sam Smith, Miranda Lambert, Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Iggy Azalea, and Ariana Grande.

Beyonce led the pack with six Grammy nominations giving her a total 53 in her entire career as well as the title of most-nominated female artist in history according to a report by CNN. Following hot in her heels is new challenger Smith with five nominations, two of it in the big three, while Taylor Swift, despite her 1989 album coming out late, had her song 'Shake It Off' qualifying for three nominations.

Rock band U2 was also given a nod for their album, Songs of Innocence, giving them a total of 46 nominations.

To be noted, controversial artist, Miley Cyrus, also received a nomination - the first time ever in her career.

The first round of nominations was announced by Pharrell and Sheeran on CBS This Morning while the rest of the list were announced on Twitter later that day up to the A Very Grammy Christmas Special which announced the Album of the Year nominees.

The 57th Grammy Awards will be held at Staples Center, Los Angeles on February 8, 2015 with a live broadcast.
