Jamie Dornan was cast in the coveted role of 'Christian Grey' in director Sam Taylor-Johnson's film adaptation of E.L. James best-selling erotic novel Fifty Shades of Grey. And to prepare for the part of the S&M-obsessed billionaire, he went to a sex-dungeon club for some research. "I went there, they offered me a beer, and they did...whatever they were into. I saw a dominant with one of his two submissives," he told ELLE UK. He continued: "I was like: 'Come on guys I know I'm not paying for this but I am expecting a show.' It was an interesting evening. Then going back to my wife and newborn baby afterward... I had a long shower before touching either of them."

Apparently, the efforts that went into Dornan's research paid off. Kelly Marcel, the British writer who wrote the screenplay for the movie was all praises for his acting. In an interview with Reza Aslan for "An Evening in the Writer's Room," she said: "It's genius. They apparently did that scene great. Apparently Jamie is great at being soft and hard at the same time. Which is hard to do for an actor! He's going to get an Oscar!"

Fifty Shades of Grey, the movie, wrapped up production early this year. Dornan is joined in the cast by Dakota Johnson who plays 'Anastasia Steele.' There will reportedly be two versions of the movie - one, a "Rated-R," for the mainstream audience, and another, an "NC-17," for the die-hard fans of the explicit erotic novel. It be hitting the theater screens by February 13, 2015, in time for Valentine's Day.

Dornan is married to English actress and singer-songwriter Amelia Warner. They have a one-year-old daughter. He is currently filming The 9th Life of Louis Drax, a supernatural thriller. He is also slated to star in a still untitled film project by director John Wells alongside Bradley Cooper, Emma Thompson, Sienna Miller, Daniel Bruhl, Uma Thurman, Lily James, Alicia Vikander, and Omar Sy.
