Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx is attached to star in an ensemble gangster drama-thriller The Trap, a film to be directed by Harmony Korine from a script he wrote. Also joining Fox in the lead is another multiple award-winning actor - Benicio del Toro who was last seen as the Collector in the hit film Guardians of the Galaxy.

Korine, best known for his work on Spring Breakersin an interview back in September with Bullet said: "The script is written. I'm putting the cast together right now, it's going to be my most ambitious film, and I'm really just going to go for it. It's some next level shit. It's a revenge movie, a sprawling, very intense... I don't want to give away too much, but we're probably going to start shooting in Miami after the New Year. I'm goin' for it."

As further gathered from the writer-director, The Trap is "a Southern revenge movie centering on two childhood friends now in their mid-to-late 30s - one of whom is very successful and the other has spent the majority of his adult life in jail. On the eve of a big recognition for the successful man, the other is released from jail and determined to get even."

Twilight star and Kristen Stewart's ex-boyfriend Robert Pattinson may also be included in the cast. Back in May, he told The Film Stage: "I might film something with Harmony Korine, with whom I've been dreaming to work since I was 17. I keep asking him what the film is about but he doesn't want to tell me."

John Lesher and Charles-Marie Anthonioz are producing The Trap, which is slated to shoot early or mid next year.

Meanwhile, Foxx's Annie is doing better than expected at the box office. The film which received generally negative reviews from critics, got a favorable 'A-' CinemaScore, meaning the audiences loved it. Also, despite the negative fallout from the Sony hacking incident, which included the piracy of copies of Annie along with other then still unreleased films, the family-oriented musical is not too far behind Night at the Museum in the box office battle.
