The winner of the recently concluded The Voice Season 7 was Blake Shelton's protégé, Craig Wayne Boyd. The long-haired country singer was born in Texas but moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 2004 to pursue a career in country music.

During his Blind Audition, Boyd sang "The Whiskey Ain't Workin'" by Travis Tritt and Marty Stuart. Two coaches (Blake Shelton and Pharrell Williams) turned around. Boyd chose Blake Shelton as his coach.

On the final night, Boyd sang his original piece (written by  Mark Marchetti) titled "My Baby's Got a Smile on Her Face", which was then followed by a duet with his coach with the song "Boots On". The final piece was an Alabama song titled "In Pictures" that pave the way for his win.

Craig bagged a cool $100,000 check, plus the more important Universal Music Group recording contract. Craig's victory marked the fourth win for Blake as coach.

Second placer was college graduate from New Jersey, Matt McAndrew. Twenty-year-old falsetto singer Chris Jamison, a campus mail man from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was in third place. Wild Card contestant Damien Lawson was fourth - all from Team Adam. The Maroon 5 vocalist, however, was proud about his finalists.

Solo hitmakers also graced the show with the likes of Ed Sheeran, Meghan Trainor, Irish artist Hozier and Mark Ronson.

In The Voice Season 8, Pharrell will return for his second stint as coach. Christina Aguilera will also be back after her maternity leave, which lasted for two seasons. Moreover, Carson Daly will return as host.
