'The Amazing Spider Man' May Still Release Earlier than the Announced 2018, Casting Call for Extras Already Issued

Officially, The Amazing Spider Man 3 full movie has been pushed to 2018, possibly sometime May, to make way for two Spider Man spinoff movies, according to Sony. Firstly, there is the Sinister Six, a movie about a team of the amazing Spider Man's villain characters, particularly Doctor Octopus, Green Goblin, Rhino, Vulture, Kraven the Hunter, and Mysterio, which may come out in 2016 and which will be directed by Drew Goddard. Then, it will be followed by Venom which is rumored for a 2017 release and which will be directed by Alex Kurtzman.

A lower than expected performance at the box office by Spider Man 2 may have been a factor for the cancellation of the previously announced The Amazing Spider Man 3 2016 release date. It just grossed $709 million dollars, the lowest of any Spider-Man movie ever. Also, writer Robert Orci had to leave the franchise to work on the Star Trek: Into Darkness movie as director. In any event, the third film in the rebooted trilogy, should it push through, will continue to be directed by Marc Webb who said it will be his last for the franchise. It will also have actor Andrew Garfield back as he is already attached to reprise his Spider Man/Peter Parker character for the third reboot Spider Man movie.

A new casting call made this January by Bill Becham Casting could even suggest that the bosses at Sony are again reconsidering their Spider-Man plans and that The Amazing Spider-Man 3 could trade release dates, this time before Sinister Six's Novempber 11, 2016, play date. The casting call is for male and female extras of all races and ethnicities between the ages of 18 and 65. The pay rate is set at $148/day, up to $900/day for speaking/special talent parts. It also says that Andrew Garfield (Peter Parker/Spider-Man) and Dane DeHaan (Harry Osborn/Green Goblin) are starring in The Amazing Spider-Man 3 project. The film is described as shooting in Atlanta, Georgia.

That there is already a casting call out means that shooting is either already underway or will begin very soon to come so it is just possible that the final installment in The Amazing Spider-Man film franchise is being re-scheduled for a much earlier than 2018 release.
