The former American Idol contestant recently came back to the show to fill in for Keith Urban, who took a brief leave from the show, as a guest judge. What made his guesting stint even more exciting was when Harry Connick Jr. asked the singer to re-enact his own audition, Lambert did it on-the-spot.

"I gotta get something off my chest. Since Adam has been here it's been so amazing. I cannot stop thinking about what you must be thinking sitting behind this desk because you're the only person who's done this on both sides. It's been crazy. You're doing such an amazing job as a judge. I feel like I've missed an opportunity as a judge to hear you audition," he continued. "I would kill if you would audition for us," Connick Jr. tells Lambert during the show quotes Us Weekly.

Fans who have been following Lambert will know that he had sung Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" during his audition and the singer-actor performed the piece as flawlessly as he did the first time despite no music and no warm-up.

Lambert became well known after placing second on the eighth season of American Idol losing to fellow competitor Kris Allen. From there on, Lambert had made a name for himself from guest starring in shows such as Glee and American Horror Story, releasing two full studio albums and one live album and dishing out hit after hit such as "For Your Entertainment" and "Whataya Want From Me". He has also been front manning for the band Queen, in which he had been a fan of.

As for the Glee star's current projects, he will be teaming up with Swedish songwriter-producers Max Martin and Shellback for an album which will be released within the year. This occurred shortly after he was signed on to Warner Bros. Records after splitting from RCA Records. According to Adam the split was due to creative differences.

Adam further shares to Billboard, "The next day, Warner Bros. contacted us, which I thought was pretty amazing and it was a kind of relief. It was just a scary thing to make that announcement to the world." The three will be working on Adam's first release under his contract with Warner Bros.

Martin shares in an exclusive interview with Billboard, "Shellback and I first realized in 2009 that a voice and talent like Adam Lambert's doesn't come around very often. We loved the experience and hoped our paths would cross again. So, when Adam came to us with a new opportunity to work together, we leapt at it and even suggested a deeper relationship where we would get the chance to really help define Adam's music over a whole album. We teamed up with the perfect partner in Warner Brothers and can't wait for everyone to hear the dynamic album. We are really proud of it and hope you like it as much as we do!"
