Grimsby, the new Sacha Baron Cohen comedy from Sony Pictures is now scheduled to be released in 2016. Baron Cohen wote/directed and also stars in the film. It was set for release in 2015 but has been puhsed back by Sony Pictures.Instead they will push promotion for the boxing drama, Southpaw. The Antoine Fuqua directed film is expected to make for the absence of Grimsby, which stars Jake Gyllenhaal.

Along with Sacha, Grimsby is set to star Johnny Vegas, David Harewood, Gabourey Sidibe, Rebel Wilson, Ian McShane, Annbelle Wallis and Penelope Cruz.

With a release in summer, Grimsby will now be pitted against Paramount's remake of Ben-Hur and the sci-fi adventure Self/Less. Well, don't be surprised if there are further shifts in the release, according to numerous reports.

Southpaw is a film on boxing from The Weinstein Company and stars Rachel McAdams, Naomie Harris, Victor Ortiz, Forest Whitaker and Rita Ora. The film centers on Billy Hope, the junior middleweight world champion and a left-handed boxer, whose tragedy is seen to have long lasting impact on his private life and his career. He has to fight back to get back the love and respect of his daughter. Naomie Harris who helps Gyllenhaal plays the social worker in the film. Billy's wife Maureen is played by Rachel McAdams, as reported by FlicksAndBits.

It is yet to be seen if the move will do well for Grimsby, as it was originally set to get released in July this year but is now pushed to 2016. Maybe, Sony is looking for some more breathing space for the film next year rather than risk it getting crowded this year. Sony Pictures is yet to release stills or a trailer of the film officially.
