The CW's Arrow Season 3's 11th episode is entitled "Midnight City" and it airs on Wednesday, January 28, at its appointed 8:00-9:00 pm time slot. Directed by Nick Copus from a script written by Wendy Mericle and Ben Sokolowski, the network's official synopsis reveals that Team Arrow, still minus Arrow, will be joining forces with the police and Ray Palmer (the future Atom), reluctantly accepting help from Laurel as the new Black Canary, and possibly even Malcolm Merlyn aka the Dark Archer, as they try to stop the powerful crime boss Daniel 'Brick' Brickwell in his diabolical scheme to bring all of Star City to its proverbial knees.

As said in the press promo for the upcoming episode, Roy Harper/Arsenal (Colton Haynes) and John Diggle (David Ramsey) confront Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy) about trying to step into her murdered sister Sara's shoes and warn her to stop before she gets herself killed. However, when Brick (guest star Vinnie Jones) kidnaps the city's Aldermen and threatens to kill them all unless the police evacuate The Glades, it's all suits on deck. Meanwhile, Ray (Brandon Routh) steps in to help Captain Quintin Lance (Paul Blackthorne) and the police force fight Brick, showing Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) a new side of her boss. Malcom (John Barrowman) tells Thea (Willa Holland) that Ra's al Ghul (Matt Nable) is after him and his family and they must leave town immediately.

As for the Arrow, he was seen in last week's episode still recuperating from the mortal wounds he suffered at Ra's a Ghul's hands. His body was retrieved from the ravine by Maseo Yamashiro (Karl Yune), whose wife Tatsu (Rila Fukushima) succeeded in bringing back to life. Based on the flashback scenes in that episode, Oliver did manage to help Maseo recover Tatsu from her kidnappers in Hongkong, putting the couple in his debt.

In the DC Comics mythology, Brick, the main baddie in this part of the story arc of Arrow's third season, is a meta-human who is invulnerable and has super strength. In the TV series, he got his monicker because of the number of bullets that he has taken and survived. Vinnie Jones appears as Brick in episodes 10, 11 and 12. The name 'Daniel Brickwell' was seen in Season 1 on Oliver's hit list.
