True that Seth Rogen's The Interview with James Franco flopped despite being satirically humorous in its own way but fans need not to be sad as another Seth Rogen film is slated for a sequel and that is Neighbors 2.

The first Neighbors film found much success during its summer premiere and because of that filmmakers wanted to make a sequel and with it bringing back the original cast of Rogen, Zac Efron, Dave Franco and Rose Byrne to reprise their roles. Nicholas Stoller will be brought back to direct Neighbors 2. The target Neighbors 2 release date will be on May 13, 2016.

Neighbors earned $268 million in international box office receipts with just an $18 million budget where it was written by Andrew Jay Cohen and Brendan O'Brien.  The first film revolved around a couple, Rogen and Bryne, who just had a new baby and are forced to live beside a fraternity house. The couple is forced to go by all means to put an end to their neighbor's shenanigans.

According to a report by Yahoo! the Neighbors 2 film will have a female twist to it where a sorority house will be set up next door and the couple is forced to team up with their fraternity neighbors to put a stop to the new neighbors. Filming is to begin within the year.

Despite the hype of the upcoming film, Screenrant writes that it may end up like another Hangover film wherein the plot gets rehashed to the point that it becomes uncreative and unimaginative. It could also get a Horrible Bosses 2 type of treatment where the original concept gets too stretched out it is barely recognizable. However, there is also a possibility that it may still pull off an original comedic flare much like 22 Jump Street. Whatever it may be only time can tell.
