Call of Duty Championship 2015 Schedule and Venue Announced

The Call of Duty Championship 2015 will be held in Los Angeles, California, from March 27-29, 2015, as per announcement from Activision, Sledgehammer Games and Xbox, in partnership with Major League Gaming and international eSports partners. The tournament will be featuring 32 teams from different parts of the world competing for the prize pool of $1 million.

For the first time in the event's three-year history, this year's eSports tournament will be open to the public. Tickets for the event, which can be purchased at the Major League Gaming website, go on sale next week starting at $50. Also available are a $50 'Gold Package' that includes a three-day pass, a token to download Advanced Warfare's upcoming Ascendance DLC and the Call of Duty 2015 premium personalization pack for Advanced Warfare and a $100 'Platinum Package' that comes with everything above,plus a Call of Duty Championship 2015 sweatshirt and VIP seating.

The qualifying rounds will be held online through Xbox One. The best teams from five continents, Asia, Australia, North America, South America and Europe will compete for a spot through a range of qualifying events broadcast on MLG.tv, with select live regional finals taking place February through early March in Australia, Brazil, the U.K. and the U.S. The live regional finals will also be broadcast on MLG.tv. The final Call of Duty Championship 2015 match will be broadcast live on Xbox Live, MLG.tv, and other networks. Participation in the 2015 Call of Duty Championship competition is open to anyone, regardless of whether amateur or professional.

According to Call of Duty publisher Activision, this year's tournament is aiming to "boost eSports to new heights." Game developer Slegehammer's co-founder Glen Schofield in a statement added: "We developed Advanced Warfare with the competitive community in mind, and we can't wait for the top talent from around the world to compete in the Call of Duty Championships."
