Angelina Jolie Rumored to Direct Captain Marvel

Angelina Jolie is being considered to direct and star in Marvel's upcoming Captain Marvel.

After all, Jolie is not just an accomplished actor but also - and more recently - becoming an accomplished director. Over the last fifteen years or so, she's established herself as Hollywood's female answer to Tom Cruise - a solid, dependable and bankable action star, capable of doing a disproportionately large number of her own stunts.

And, so, the prospect of her taking the reins of Marvel's first female hero-led movie was intriguing, to say the least.

Jolie is rumored to receive a cool and whooping $20 Million if she accepts the offer.

On the other hand, Selma director Ava DuVernay is also open to making a Marvel origin story movie.

If plans will push through, Captain Marvel will be Jolie's 4th film as a director. Her first was In the Land of Blood and Honey, then the recently Unbroken and the upcoming By the Sea.

In By the Sea, apart from being the director, she is also the main cast including her husband Brad Pitt. This film marks the 2nd collaboration of the couple since Mr and Mrs Smith. Principal photography and production began on August 19, 2014, in Malta, and ended on November 10, 2014.

As of now, there is no confirmation on the rumor yet. Whether Angie will take the job or not, we won't know it that soon and pretty sure Marvel will come up with a lot of surprises under their sleeves.

Captain Marvel will hit theaters on November 2, 2018.
